Amazon Day 1:  Puerto Maldonado – Sandoval Lake Reserve.

Today we will receive you at the airport or the land terminal of Puerto Maldonado by our guide where we will welcome you and then we will move to our main office.
After registering you will receive a small talk from our guide, you will be able to leave your luggage and take what is necessary for the Amazon tour.
Immediately we will move to the main port of (Capitanía), where the boat will not be waiting to board and continue the trip down the river of Madre de Dios.
We will sail 50 minutes where we will leave our boat outboard. From there we will make a 5-kilometer walk, first we register at the checkpoint to continue our walk on the flat land, making stops where the guide will explain the diversity of species that inhabit.

Then we will arrive at a small port where our canoe awaits us, we will embark to continue the trip through a meandering canyon until we reach the open lake to cross to the next port where our hostel is located, a 5-minute walk away where we will wait for you with a typical jungle drink right away We will settle in their respective private comfortable rooms and have lunch.
In the afternoon we will explore Lake Sandoval taking our rowing canoe where we will see the giant river otter called (river wolf), black caiman, shanshos (prehistoric birds), herons, cormorants, Martínez fishermen, turtles, charapas, return to the lodge .etc.

After dinner we will return to the lake in our canoe with their respective lanterns or lamps to be able to observe the black caimans that at night go out to marry their prey, nocturnal birds etc.
The guide has many experiences and will explain about the wild fauna and flora of the Amazon, then return to our lodge to rest in their respective rooms.

Amazon Day 2: Sandoval Lake – Natural Paradise.

Today we will get up very early in the morning, where it will allow us to enjoy a very wonderful sunrise and we will have a cozy meeting with the family of giant otters (Lobos del Rio) that go out in search of their food and are more active in this time of day. The Sandoval Lake Reserve offers us a rich abundance of wildlife, including more than 70 species of resident birds that are on the fringes of the lakes, the largest numbers feed on fish found in the lake, such as aquatic birds hunt the dawn fish, and the prehistoric bird called Hoatzins.

Where you can take many photographs of this natural paradise of wildlife, they will use our paddle canoe for that, then we will return to the lodge where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast.

After breakfast we will take a walk in the depths of the wild life of this Amazon reserve a huge variety of flora and fauna where you observe monkeys, families of mammals, reptiles, birds, peccaries, tapirs, toucans, as well as the giant trees (which they have many years of life) as well as the strangler tree, medicinal plants such as ayahuasca (chacruna), aerial plants such as lianas, which are growing together in a good reciprocal way of living. Where you will have the opportunity to climb swinging like a real Tarzan. It will be an unforgettable experience, during your walks our guide will explain to us about the medicinal plants that are widely used in this Amazon, immediately return to the lodge for dinner.
After dinner we will carry out the night activity along the trails to observe some species such as night monkeys, frogs, toads and some mammals.

Amazon Day 3: Palmaras clay lick – Exploring Flora – Fauna.

Today we will wake up very early by the songs of the birds we will take a 40 minute walk we will go to a special place called (Palm Colpa) that is located around Lake Sandoval, where a large number of different species of palm trees grow in the water thus creating a swamp area of ​​the Amazon rainforest.
This place is called Collpa de Palmeras, this area attracts many birds such as parrots, macaws and other species, they gather every morning to eat delicious fruit that these palm trees produce and dried fruits of (Wuallo), these fruits contain enough sodium, calcium, potassium and other minerals, all these derivatives help them in their digestion.
Then, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast.

After breakfast we will enter deeper into this impressive jungle to observe the flora and fauna that developed in this Sandoval Lake Reserve. Appreciating, monkeys, deer, wild boar, tapirs and spectacled bears, just to name a few and giant 500 year old trees return to the lodge.
. After lunch we will have free time to rest or take pictures or enjoy a refreshing swim in Lake Sandoval (don’t worry, there are no piranhas or other furry animals during the day in the Amazon jungle).
Afterwards, we will embark on a canoe to cross the lake to a place where we can best appreciate the beautiful sunset that falls on the lake. At 7 in the afternoon, we return to the lodge for dinner while waiting for the moonlight, this is a suitable time to go spotting the alligators again.

Amazon Day 4: Sandoval Lake / Puerto Maldonado Airport / Terrestrial Terminal.

Today will be the saddest day to say goodbye we will have our breakfast, to get ready and then we will board the rowing canoe to navigate through Lake Sandoval and then we will walk back to the checkpoint where our boat is waiting for us off the edge to continue sailing up the river from the Madre de Dios towards the city of Puerto Maldonado.

We will collect the luggage at our office and immediately we will transfer to the airport or the land terminal.
